This is a high-level overview of the legendary watch brand, A. Lange & S hne. In 1845 Ferdinand Adolph Lange convinced the Saxon government to build a pocket watch factory in Glash tte, a quaint town in the East Ore Mountains now known as the birthplace of the German watch industry. For four generations the Langes produced some of the most exquisite, intricately designed wristwatches the horological world has ever known. Physically and financially ruined by World War II, the factory closed until the founder's great-grandson Walter resuscitated the manufacturer in 1990. Featured within are technical specifications and clear visuals depicting complicated movements for the company's most prominent watch families, including the relatively new Lange 1, Lange 31 with perpetual calendar, and the Langematik. These watches have climbed back into the international elite, thanks to their technologically sophisticated yet traditional design.
