給讀者的話

　　聽、說、讀、寫這四種英文能力當中，就屬寫作最為複雜。想要寫出一些句子並不困難，任何上過英文課的學生皆可辦到。但是，若是想寫出一篇好的作文，這其中卻存在著很大的困難。

　　增進寫作技巧的方法很多，但一般認為，透過大量閱讀精采的好文章才能達到最好的效果。其實說穿了，寫作就是一段「模仿」的過程，藉由吸收別人文章的精華，長時間累積下來，自然而然就能透過自己的筆桿，寫出語意流暢且結構嚴謹的好文章。俗話說，「熟讀唐詩三百首，不會作詩也會吟」，就是這個道理。

　　本書所彙整的100篇作文範例，題材搜羅學測等大考及各校模擬考試作文題目，共分為三大部分：「看圖寫作」、「信函寫作」和「主題寫作」。每篇字數符合大考規定範圍，篇篇皆為容易模仿上手的短文，十分適合讀者觀摩；輔以文章關鍵字詞解說，加上精闢的寫作建議，包括常見用法、常見句型、轉折語和連接詞等，教讀者如何下筆，以及可以套用在哪一類型的作文題目中。讀者可以一邊熟悉不同的寫作主題，一邊習得實用單字和片語，雙管齊下的功效，讓英文寫作功力日益精進。
