Those Shoes

　　當 「需要」與「想要」衝突時，你會如何抉擇？

　　學校同學間流行一種昂貴的新款球鞋，傑洛米很想要一雙「那種鞋」。但奶奶告訴他，家裡的經濟只夠他買「需要」的，無法買他「想要」的。

　　但是，當傑洛米的舊鞋子穿壞時，奶奶還是帶他去買「那種鞋」，鞋店裡的定價令人咋舌，他退而求其次，帶奶奶去義賣商店找「那種鞋」，即使鞋子太小，仍然咬緊牙根買下來，但代價是腳痛。奶奶什麼話也沒說，只是為他準備一雙實穿的鞋。

All Jeremy wants is a pair of those shoes, the ones everyone at school seems to be wearing. Though Jeremy’s grandma says they don’t have room for ＂want,＂ just ＂need,＂ when his old shoes fall apart at school, he is more determined than ever to have those shoes, even a thrift-shop pair that are much too small. But sore feet aren’t much fun, and Jeremy soon sees that the things he has -- warm boots, a loving grandma, and the chance to help a friend -- are worth more than the things he wants.
