Rosa Luxemburgo

This book about the Polish revolutionary socialist Rosa Luxemburg includes an introduction by Argentine intellectual Nestor Kohan, a brief tribute by Clara Zetkin, and a poignant short piece by Luxemburg (published for the first time in Spanish) about a Christmas Eve mass poisoning in a homeless shelter in Berlin.

Rosa Luxemburg was a Polish leader of the German Social Democratic Federation and was jailed for her opposition to WWI. A critic of the increasingly reformist tendency in the German party, she championed the idea of the mass strike and wrote extensively on political economy and Marxist theory. She was assassinated in 1919.

Nestor Kohan is a researcher and professor at the University of Buenos Aires. He edited Rosa Luxemburgo: Vidas rebeldes, Antonio Gramsci: Vidas rebeldes, and Introduccion al pensamiento socialista among many other books.

Clara Zetkin: Clara Zetkin (1857-1933) was a militant German communist leader who played a prominent role in the early struggle for women’s rights.
