Rev. Dr. Louis Blake Hathorn, Jr. converted his dissertation, a comprehensive study on Christian leadership and social justice change into this book. His next work, Woman Preach which sanctions ordaining females, is forthcoming. He has been the shepherd of Sweet Home M.B. Church in Lexington for over four decades. He is also the pastor of Mt. Sinai M.B. Church in Louisville. He urges his congregation to support non-violent civil disobedient causes, he disperses love and charity liberally, and serves on non-profit boards in Holmes and Winston Counties. He attended Winston County Public School District, obtained a B.S. in Agriculture from Alcorn State University, and a masters and doctorate degree in Theology from Abundant Blessings Seminary. Dr. Hathorn previously served as an Agriculture Technical Educational Technician, as a Secondary Agriculture Education Teacher for Webster County School District, and he also taught Agriculture in Holmes County School District. Hathorn was the second child born to the union of L.B. Hathorn, Sr. and Vera Lee Weeks Hathorn in Noxapater, Winston County, Mississippi. He and his wife Claranett are the proud parents of three children: Shintri, Chellani, and Louise Blake Hathorn Jr.
