Carol Rickard watched her father go through cancer, years before she would walk the same journey herself, and she can tell you - stress management doesn’t work.
Cancer patients are directed to exercise, eat well, practice mindfulness, and do self-care. This is the same kind of treatment advice you’d receive for everyday stressors, something a cancer diagnosis blows completely out of the water. During her 30 years of clinical practice teaching patients in hospitals how to better manage stress, Rickard discovered that by the time patients were asking for help, they were already drowning in stress.
Divided into two parts, I Am Not Cancer teaches Rickard’s "Survivor’s Mindset" and "Calm Code". First sharing her own story, and the four cornerstones to a strong mental foundation, Rickard then gives the step-by-step instruction needed to truly prioritize your mental health during treatment. Are you ready to prioritize yours?
