The Study Committee C6 of CIGRE facilitates and promotes the progress of engineering and the international exchange of information and knowledge in the field of distribution systems and distributed energy resources DER. The experts contribute to the international exchange of information and knowledge by means of synthesizing state of the art practices and developing recommendations.
Professor Dr.-Ing.
Christine Schwaegerl received her Diploma in Electrical Engineering from the University of Erlangen, Germany, in 1996, and her PhD from Dresden Technical University, Germany, in 2000. In 2000 she joined Siemens AG as a consultant with Siemens Power Technologies International, being responsible for several national and European research and development activities on power transmission and distribution networks. Since 2011 she has held the role of full professor at Augsburg University of Applied Sciences. Professor Schwaegerl currently is also chair of CIGRE SC C6 Active Distribution Systems and Distributed Energy Resources.
Professor
Geza Joos (Ph.D, McGill University, Canada) is a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at McGill University, Canada, since 2001, where he holds the NSERC/Hydro-Quebec Industrial Research Chair on the Integration of Renewable Energies and Distributed Generation into the Electric Distribution Grid since 2009, and the Canada Research Chair in Powering Information Technologies since 2004. His research activities focus on the application of high-power electronics to electric power systems and power conversion, including distributed generation. He is active in CIGRE as Secretary of Study Committee C6, Active Distribution Systems and Distributed Energy Resources since 2017, and in the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Power and Energy Society involved in standards activities since 2011 on microgrids controllers and DER management systems. He is a Fellow IEEE, Fellow CIGRE, and Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering.
