Renditions of Famous Paintings stemmed from a 2.5-year project. Eli Vega created his photographic renditions of thirty (30) famous paintings, spanning five centuries worth of art. He provides brief histories and stories about the paintings and the artists who painted them. He also shares how he found his models, costumes, props, and venues. One of the most amazing parts of the book is that, for each rendition, he details how he staged each rendition and how he created the final versions, using a combination of photography and photo editing software.
Eli combines his college art education, photography skills, and computer software applications in a mesmerizing way that educates, enlightens, and entertains us. Art lovers, photographers, artists, and the general public will appreciate and learn from the unique photo art approach and style Eli applied to his project. He had to act like a movie director, instructing his models how to stand, where to place their hands, and the kind facial expressions he wanted. The results will amaze you. One admirer of his approach commented, "Your ’Christina’s World’ evokes a stronger emotion in me than Wyeth’s does."
