Wisdom of the Daoist Masters, offers us the works of the most ancient philosophers of Taoism: Lao Zi (Lao Tse), Lie Zi (Lieh Tzu) and Zhuang Zhou (Chuang Tzu).
This edition is based on the translation of Léon Wieger, who was a French physician who became a Jesuit and went to China as a missionary. There he focused on the study of the Chinese culture and language, making important contributions in the field of Chinese folklore and philosophies.
This book introduces us to Taoist thought, by the hand of Wieger, whose notes and comments are a great help for the understanding of it.
This edition is a complete translation into English of Les pères du système taoiste. The only important modification is that the romanization system used by Wieger (EFEO), which has fallen into disuse, has been replaced by the romanization system used today: Hanyu Pinyin.
