Patrick Vernon is a Teaching Fellow in the Department of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Birmingham, UK. Their research looks at the role of gendered, sexual and racialised cultural representations in British political discourse and in the organisation of world politics more broadly. They are particularly interested in the study of political violence, having researched topics including online abuse, hostile media representations of minoritised groups, genocide and humanitarian intervention. Patrick has published in journals including Millennium, International Studies Review and The British Journal of Politics and International Relations.
