　　由高畑勳、宮崎駿聯手打造的動畫製作公司『吉卜力工作室』，創立於1985年，旗下所製作的動畫共有六部獲得美國奧斯卡提名，吉卜力公園與美術館更是深受國內外人士熱愛的旅遊景點。
 
　　宮崎駿真正的里程碑可從《風之谷》開始，電影於1984年問世，推出立即造成轟動，廣受各年齡層觀眾喜愛。《風之谷》之後，『吉卜力工作室』正式建立。
 
　　1986年宮崎駿與吉卜力推出《天空之城》，從人物到故事腳本設定，片中的飛行器與自然議題，是繼《風之谷》後，最能代表宮崎駿的作品。1988年推出兩部作品，一部為大家所熟知的《龍貓》，另一部則是高畑勳執導的作品《螢火蟲之墓》。 
 
　　1989年，宮崎駿製作的《魔女宅急便》推出，創下高票房的佳作，並成為該年度日本最賣座的電影，也超過吉卜力以往的任何一部作品!1992年，改編自宮崎駿漫畫作品《飛行艇時代》的《紅豬》上映，一般認為是宮崎駿自傳性動畫作品，也是首度在台灣戲院放映的吉卜力動畫，獲得極佳票房。
 
　　1997年的《魔法公主》緊扣人與大自然共處的生態議題，帶有濃厚的宮崎駿個人風格，加上久石讓氣勢磅礡的配樂，堪稱是最撼動人心的巨作，該片也創下日本影史紀錄。四年後《神隱少女》不僅是日本有史以來票房最高的電影，2002年更拿下奧斯卡最佳動畫獎，同時也是歷史上唯一一部以電影身份獲得歐洲三大電影節的動畫作品，讓吉卜力作品登上世界舞台。今年，宮崎駿製作的最新電影《蒼鷺與少年》更奪下第96屆奧斯卡「最佳動畫片」，在全球獲得高度評價。
