Marcus Sedgwick wrote written over 40 books for young people and adults. He was the winner of many prizes, most notably the 2014 Michael L Printz Award, America’s most respected prize for writing for teenagers, for his novel Midwinterblood. As well as winning the BookTrust Teenage Book Award and the Branford Boase Award in the UK, he was been shortlisted for the Carnegie Medal eight times. His 2016 book The Ghosts of Heaven received a Michael L. Printz Honor.
