First Principles, if the examined life is of interest to anyone, nowadays:
E-PS - Thinking AnewThe intellect of the primal senses - sight, sound, touch, taste and smell - features a world of discrete, static, categorical phenomena. Informed by these premises, or first principles, Plato theorised a system featuring a super-natural world, a Father Supernatural world, .... of categorical forms .... the good, beauty, tall and small, etc., as discrete and static value- -concepts. However, if one’s high(er) intellect informs a system, an alternative world emerges; an indefinite- -dynamic Mother Nature world, determined by featuring ’forces’ -Effects, determined through indefinite- -dynamic ’forces’; indefinite- -dynamic effects, through indefinite- -dynamic ’forces’. Other systems emerged at approx. the same time as Plato’s formulation:
In India: Hinduism and Buddhism. In China: Confucianism and (pre communism) Taoism/Daoism.
In the land of al Kinana, approx. 1,300 years earlier, Abraham set forth the first of the three Abrahamic religions, the idea of one (big) god rather than many (equal) gods. Quality control: Perhaps compare the different systems- -theories to effect an opinion of which have been the most disastrous for the world. And compare how coherent and true-to-life they fare in tension with E-PS. E-PS is quite similar to Taoism/Daoism, but perhaps is more logic-grounded, while perhaps Taoism is more intuitive. So, anyone for First Principles, nowadays ....
