Dear John’ is a collection of letters sent to my father serving in the RAF during World War 2. Nearly all were written by his mother from the town of Ayr in Scotland from the year 1942 to 1945. Other members of the family regularly contributed with their own bits of news. The correspondence details life in Ayr during the war and how the family were coping with the effects of the conflict. Family photographs are included as well as pictures taken by John while abroad. Also included is added information on events and people mentioned in the correspondence.
