Educational software enables certain tasks to be carried out, promoting a better understanding of school content and guaranteeing students a more meaningful and reflective education. Especially in organic chemistry, molecular structuring programs are able to virtualize flat and three-dimensional structures, easing the difficulty of understanding the representational level of chemistry. Among these software programs, ChemSketch is one of the most accessible and has great potential for use in schools. With this in mind, the main aim of this work is to contribute to the process of teaching organic chemistry through the use of ChemSketch. It is the result of research for a Professional Master’s Degree in Science and Mathematics Teaching, entitled "The use of ChemSketch software as a tool for teaching Organic Chemistry in Basic Education in the State of Acre", developed at the Federal University of Acre, under the important guidance of Prof. Dr. Anelise Maria Regiani.
